    As my wife had lost her grandma recently I thought that one of the best ways to keep her grandma’s memory alive was to have one of their last photos together brought to life through a pencilled sketch.

    At short notice, Fiona was able to bring the photo to life through a sketch and I felt that she empathised with the picture so much which helped capture the magic of the love between my wife and her grandma.

Creating a unique piece of art that is meaningful to you

A Figurative Portrait in Oils

Can take between 6 to 8 weeks to complete, depending on complexity.

If working from life, I take several photos and make sketches on the first few sittings (approximately 3 x 2 - hour sittings at your location). I will then undertake the main painting in my studio.

Working From Photos

I also work exclusively from photos that you love. All I ask is that they are as clear as possible and in colour.

Once we have a clear understanding of what you would like, I'll create some preliminary sketches for you to review. This way, you'll get a sense of what the final piece will look like before I start on the main artwork.

Pricing for Oil Paintings:

  • Large, 20 x 16 inch £1’300

  • Medium,16 x 12 inch £1’000

  • Small, 10 x 14 inch £800

A Graphite Drawing

I use Acid-free Archival paper that won't degrade over time, preserving the integrity of the drawing.

Pricing for Graphite Drawings:

Most of my drawings start from 9 x12 inches, and I am happy to discuss your ideas if you have a different size in mind.

Starting size: 9 x12”, £250

An additional £50 per figure.

The Contract

Once we have established what you would like, a contract is drawn up to ensure we both understand what has been agreed upon.

A 50% deposit of the total amount is paid to ensure that the work can commence. The final 50% will be paid upon completion of the artwork (excluding any delivery costs).
