Early Years
Born into an artistic family, with both parents immersed in the arts, my home was a sanctuary of inspiration and encouragement. At 18, I embarked on an art foundation course, but it felt uninspiring and led me to abandon that path. It would be a decade before I decided to become a student again, enrolling in a portraiture diploma at Heatherley School of Fine Art. This experience was transformative, giving me renewed motivation and inspiration.
Nature's Healing Influence
During the lockdowns in 2020, walking in nature became a lifeline for me and compelled me to start a new series of 7x5 inch landscapes - like little snapshots preserving those special moments. While recovering from cataract surgery around that time, I found it easy to work with coloured pencils and rediscovered the immediacy and how loose and expressive I could be. My palette also became more varied and brighter, this all influenced a new relaxed approach to painting.
Today
I am always busy working on something new and playing with different mediums. You can join my mailing list to be the first to see new work and updates and follow me on Instagram and Facebook to see what I'm currently up to. I look forward to connecting!
